Tiny Lil' Projects (:

Hello everyone!

Wanted to share a few things I've worked on this weekend.  Friday afternoon I was in the mood to get stampin', get my fingers inky and color w/markers and watercolor pencils (:  Jammed to some classical music on Pandora and I was in crafting heaven!!!  It's SO therapeutic!!!  Anyways, I wasn't planning on making cards... just stamping and coloring.  Now that I finished them, I know I'll be using these to add onto cards--creating clean & simple looks (:  Not sure what I'll do with the "Critters In The Forrest" scene yet, but it won't be going on a card... I'll have to blog a different post so that you guys can see what I end up doing with it.  In the mean time, enjoy some eye candy (:

Birds of a Feather:  I love the saying "Birds of a feather flock together".  This is the first time I'm using this wood stamp from Hampton Arts.  I stamped everything using distress ink in vintage photo.  Paper pieced the birds using Echo Park pattern paper.  Inked the edges with distress ink in antique linen and added black enamel dots to the eyes of the birds.  I love the look of it! (:

Up next is this adorable little Robot listening to love songs.  I was almost tempted to write in "like a love song" after the "i love you" sentiment, to go with Selena Gomez's tune! HA!  That would've been cute...  (;  I ended up punching out a scallop border on the left to embellish this cutie robot some more.  I am also using him for the first time.  I got it from the dollar bin at Michaels a few months back.  I was inspired to stamp with him by the queen of card making, Kristina Werner.  She has a cute video she filmed a while ago (back in '09).  You can check hers out by clicking here.  I then wrapped some yarn around the piece of cardstock, which is the yarn Lawn Fawn uses to wrap its products with when they mail out your orders--love the intense teal color!  I finished it off by adding some blue rhinestones.

Later, I decided I wanted to create a little nighttime party in the forrest scene using Lawn Fawn--yes, because I can't get enough of them! (Getting another stamp set from them soon, too--stay tuned for that!) (;  This stamp set is from LF's "Critter's In The Forrest" and I also used a $1 studio-g wood stamp w/banners to add a celebration mood to the "festivities"! :D  I'll have to sit another bird on the broken link... HA!  I paper pieced and colored the images using Memento markers, as well as my watercolor pencils.  This was a blast to work on!!!

Then, I was in the mood to "Bake Me a Cake" with Lawn Fawn, to celebrate with style! (;  I paper pieced the cake stand from scratch/left over paper I had.  I had punched out hearts for another card and my eyes somehow envisioned the bottom stand and decided to cut the remainder thin strip of paper from a border punch into the "plate" of the stand.  Added a punched out mini heart, et voilà--cake stand done!  Then I colored in the cake using Memento markers from the "Girls' Night Out" pack and added fine glitter in rose snow (from Recollections) using a new glue pen I purchased at Scrapbuck.com, which is an amazing online store to get some crafting goodies for a fabulous price! (:  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts set "Happy Birthday Messages", which I had never used before either.  Stamped the sentiment using two distress inks: antique linen & vintage photo.  I also had a left over border punch strip of paper I one time decided not to use for another project.  I thought it would look nice above the cake--makes me think of a bakery shop.  I also punched the bottom border with Martha Stewart's "Doily Lace".  I will obviously place this on a birthday card for a female... Too much pink going on for a guy - HA! (:

Lastly, I was in the mood to play around with my Lawn Fawn Frosty Friends and fell in love with the turn out!!! :D  How cute are these snowmen?!!  They certainly do warm my heart and I had the most fun making them!!! :D :D :D  I've learned some shading tricks from the genius, Kristina Werner and have put those skills to good use... Hoping to get better as I practice it more.

Anyways, hope you guys have enjoyed!!!  Thank you so much for stopping by!  Wishing you all an amazing and blessed week!

Love,

Gri
