"Hugs" Card - 2 Challenges

Hello again, my crafty readers!

So I'm back to share another card!  I created this one this morning.  I've made a nice pile of cards in the past 2 weeks and this afternoon I decided to head over to my cousin, Carlos' house, where I now get my cards photographed.  He has a monster professional camera and the images just can not compare to any other when taken w/his camera.  Since I can't travel to the Bronx (where Carlos lives) often, I usually make a bunch of cards and then bring them over for him to photograph... we make a great team, don't we?! (;  HA!

Anyways, I was going to wait on the post for this card, not only because I really like it tons and wanted to share it in a special post, but also, because that way I have plenty of cards to share on different occasions.  But since I JUST found out about the CAS-ual Fridays challenge: CFC60 (thanks to your posting, Lenny!!!), then I decided to post this one now instead, that way I am able to submit my participation! (:  The challenge consists of using text in your clean and simple design (CAS).  This is my very first time playing along with CAS-ual Fridays, so I'm super excited!!! (:  (I am also submitting this card to Lawnscaping Challenge #37 Use Dimension.  This is my second submission to this challenge.)

This mini card was pretty simple to make.  I actually made 3 mini cards out of an 8½x11 sheet of white card stock (I can't wait to show you the other two, which will be posted in the near future).  All the stamps are from the Hero Arts "XO" stamp set.  The pattern paper with the text is from either My Mind's Eye or Echo Park (can't remember which of the two lol).   I also heat embossed all images using ColorBox black ink and clear embossing powder.  The only thing I punched out was the big red heart, which I then inked up the edges using Distress ink in "Pumice Stone".  The buttons are from the $1 bin at Michaels.

I am sending all three mini cards (including this one) to my really good friend, Eva who has been immensely supportive of me during a current rough situation I'm enduring.  I don't think I've ever met anyone more compassionate than Eva in my life (besides, Iris).  But to say the least, Eva has a heart of gold and friends like her, well, they just don't make 'em like that anymore!!! (':

Anyways, hope you guys like this card as much as I do!  I also encourage YOU to play along in this fun challenge!!

Thank you once again for stopping by!  As always, your comments and words of encouragement are amazing and never cease to paint a smile on my face.  May you have an exceedingly triumphant week!!! GOD richly bless!! xoxoxo

Love,

Gri
